These pictures give some idea of what is going on in Phase 1 (of 3) for the restoration of the 1930 Moller pipe organ, Op. 5781. Rosenberry & Myers Organbuilders of Stuyvesant, NY, has been contracted for this work. Completion of Phase 1 is expected by end of February, 2008.
Work for the three phases has been specified as follows:
1. Swell and Pedal division reconstruction, including a new electro-mechanical swell main windchest (replacing the obsolete Moller action), re-actioning the off-set windchest for the 16-foot Bourdon rank, re-leathering and re-actioning the pedal windchests, installation of (a) new reservoirs and windlines for both divisions, (b) a new all-electric Peterson expression controller motor, (c) new tremolo and (d) solid-state switching for both divisions. Pipework will be repaired, re-regulated and voiced, new tuning slides will be installed and the oboe stop will be re-tongued.
2. Great Main Windchest restoration and Console replacement.
3. Remaining restoration and enhancement.
Phases 2 and 3 will be scheduled when sufficient funds have been collected. We praise and thank our Almighty God for His gift of music and His enabling us to proceed in this direction.
Please keep this project in your prayers – for wisdom, grace, safety, stewardship, faithfulness of all involved.
